| Journalism and the internet are two fields that Nicolas has been bringing together from the very beginning. When he discovered blogs he began writing with a vengeance. From a personal diary he came to devote his blog to his great passion: snowboarding. Professionally he works in the world of marketing and has a lot of experience in international marketing, both operative and strategic. He has also worked as an IT project manager. Currently he is employed as head of marketing projects at Renault SA. |
The blog as a business opportunity
Nicolas published the blog www.snowdroader.eu with a friend in October 2006. His mission can be summed up in a few sentences:
We love snowboarding and we were looking for a way to show it and give back.
We believe there is still some space left in the media universe for an independent voice.
We take full advantage of the power of blogs to bring you closer to the European snowboarding action.
But blogging is not about giving, it’s about sharing! Sharing ideas, opinions, information!
The credibility of their blog is based on good knowledge of the snowboarding industry, responsiveness and a commitment to regular updates and honest opinions. Their website has also attracted some companies and brands interested in the same narrow target audience – blog readers who share a passion for snowboarding. At their lecture we’ll hear something about how a blog can serve business and marketing goals, yet at the same time maintain credibility and reader interest.
